About us

Globalvegs (our partnering business), which was formed in Germany in 1994, is based in Osterhofen in the Bavarian part of Germany. This is in the heart of Germany’s vegetable growing region. The success it has achieved in Europe with consistency in exceptional service and quality of products opened the door to expand the market in South Africa. The Ammer family has been involved in the running of the local business since 2007.

The business originally started off with a focus on the procurement and supply of various formats of gherkins and mustard. While this is still the cornerstone of the success achieved, we are now also able to offer numerous brands of groceries that originate from Germany.

Consequently, the next step followed with the opening of our own shops in Somerset West, Milnerton and Cape Town.

The monthly deliveries of containers from overseas arrive at the head office and warehouse in Somerset West from where all nationwide customers and shops are supplied.

Furthermore, the good relationship with the famous RAITH Gourmet company was the basis of a very successful cooperation with their shops in Gardens and Constantia and further retail companies in Table View, Montague Gardens, Observatory and in the southern suburbs.

Further locations with modern retail systems for high-quality groceries and world famous brands from Germany are planned in the Western Cape for the future.
